Hot Stocks: Heading into February
The last part of January 2021 was really wild and volatile. RATS had a great week during the third full week of the month, but gave quite a bit of it back in the final week of January. It didn’t help that people were out to run up Game Stop (GME), BlackBerry (BB), Bed Bath and Beyond (BBBY), National Beverage (FIZZ), and others. Now it sounds like it is off to DOGE (cryptocurrency) and silver.
With a new month finally here, I want to take a fresh look at four stocks that came up when reviewing the buys and sells for February 1, 2021. The stocks below are listed in the “Sleepers” section of that post. I thought it made since to pull these out and place them here for the start of the month.
Aphria (APHA)
This one has been great since I grabbed it early in January. I don’t see any reason for it to give up the fight yet. In fact, it may just be getting started. Check out this line.

CGC (Canopy Growth)
At $40.07, Canopy Growth looks pretty good. The pot stocks are having a moment. The new guy may make marijuana even more lucrative than it current is, so this one might be a good one to grab. I am a fan of Aphria (APHA) too. See above.

FIZZ (National Beverage)
Last week, National Beverage had the best week of the stocks RATS is tracking (56%). It is certainly one of the stocks being gamed lately, so it is speculative for sure. Regardless, it has been on a run for a while and may continue.

MRNA (Moderna)
Covid + vaccines = $
Moderna seems to be right there in the thick of things. Vaccinations are being mass produced and distributed at a blistering pace. Moderna wins in a world like that.

SPWR (SunPower)
This one may be my favorite stock right now. RATS shows it as a hold. Solar is hot right now (sorry about the pun). New guy. Energy from above. SunPower is a winner.
